Training After an Injury: How 1 on 1 Coaching Keeps You Safe

One of the most common reasons people stop exercising is an old injury that flares up every time they try again. A bad back, a knee that clicks, a shoulder that never felt the same. Training alone at a crowded gym makes it easy to push too hard, too soon. Here is how 1 on 1 coaching changes that.

It starts with the right questions

Your coach will ask about the injury, what your doctor or physiotherapist advised, what movements hurt and which do not. If you are still in active rehab, we work alongside your physio rather than replacing them.

Movement before load

Before adding weight, your coach checks how you move. Many recurring injuries come from compensations, such as one side doing more work or the lower back taking over from the hips. Fixing the pattern first prevents repeat problems.

Gradual, tracked progression

Every session builds slightly on the last. Because your trainer sees every rep, they can spot early signs of fatigue or pain and adjust the exercise immediately. This is very hard to do on your own.

Strength is protection

Once the area is ready, getting stronger is the best defence against re-injury. Stronger glutes and core support the lower back. Stronger quads and hamstrings support the knees. Stronger upper back muscles support the shoulders.

When to see a doctor first

If you have sharp pain, numbness, swelling or pain at night, get a medical opinion before you train. A good coach will always ask you to do this.
